Pharmacies throughout Luxembourg are currently experiencing shortages of flu vaccines, affecting almost every pharmacy in the country. The situation was first reported by Radio 100,7 on Friday morning.

Alain de Bourcy, president of the Luxembourg Pharmacists' Association (SPL), told RTL that pharmacies have received only 70% of the vaccine doses they ordered. The main cause, he explained, is a change in the composition of this year's flu vaccines, which has led to production delays. De Bourcy added that demand for flu vaccinations is higher than usual this year, further straining supplies.

Nonetheless, de Bourcy emphasised that there is no cause for alarm. New deliveries are scheduled to arrive before or during the weekend, and he expects sufficient vaccine doses will be available by next week at the latest.
