Police suspected that the two men were about to conclude a drug deal. The two suspects took off when they spotted the officers. One of them ran towards Rue de la Gare and threw away a box containing two pellets of cocaine as he was fleeing.
He did not get far before police managed to apprehend him, however.
Officers searched him and found a mobile phone as well as a small amount of cash. Police later searched his home and found 24 pellets of cocaine, several mobile phones and cash.
He faced an investigating magistrate on Monday 6 January.
Police were unable to locate the second suspect who was involved in the drug deal.
