According to the police bulletin, the victim was approached by two young men on Rue Large, initially acting friendly and asking to shake hands. When the victim resisted, the muggers ripped the watch off the man's wrist and fled towards the "Fëschmaart". The victim was not injured.
The two perpetrators were said to be around 28-30 years old, around 1.70 metres tall, of North African origin. The first was plump and wore a black jacket with dark coloured trousers, as well as white earphones. The second was slim and wore dark clothing.
