On Wednesday, Minister for Internal Security François Bausch, the head management of the police, CGFP representatives, and police employee delegations had a meeting to discuss ongoing issues.
In a press release published by the SNPGL after the meeting, the trade union announced that there had been a broad consensus in adapting the legislation affecting working hours as quickly as possible.
The trade union acknowledged that there had been difficult moments in the meeting, but highlighted that those present at the meeting had suggested a number of constructive measures. The next step would be for the ministry to examine these measures and provide updates to all those involved by 18 April.
The goal established at the meeting is to have agreements signed between the social partners by the end of the month. However, until that point, the police's working hour procedures will have to abide by the legislation of 1 August 2018.
