The incident occurred around 11.15pm on Place de la Gare, outside the station.
The security guard was able to capture and hold on to the individual until police were on site. It also turned out the man had been carrying large amounts of drugs and cash.
The man was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and the drugs and money were confiscated. He was presented to the examining magistrate on Monday morning.
