The first case revolved around a repeat speeder who was caught going 116 km/h instead of 70 km/h on the A4 motorway near Luxembourg City in 2017.
The judge stressed that it was the defendant's fourth speeding-related offence. In 2015, he was for example caught doing 169 instead of 130 km/h on a motorway shortly after he obtained his driver's license.
The defendant has already been banned from driving until mid-2020. The prosecutor demanded an extension of the ban (2 years in total) and an adequate fine.
The second case revolved around a hit-and-run incident that took place in Schifflange in 2018. The driver had caused an accident and taken off. She did not appear in court in person this Monday morning.
The prosecutor demanded a driving ban of a year and a half, and a fine.
The verdicts will be rendered on 20 February.
