The fund is performing well but it remains important to find a new director, Tanson explained on Thursday morning. Tanson was joined by the current president of the housing fund and met with the MPs of the parliamentary commission on housing.
The former director of the housing fund recently resigned but neither MPs or the public have received details concerning the circumstances of the resignation. Tanson only said that the director had left the fund "by mutual agreement."
When questioned about the scam that led to a €800,000 transfer to a Polish bank account, Tanson and the president confirmed that they had lodged a complaint against the unknown perpetrator. It was added that some of the money can be recovered and that the relevant regulations have already been changed in order to avoid future scams.
