For the past five years the eight employees of "Earthlab" have been working on artificial intelligence "Made in Luxembourg". The goal is to connect technologies from the domains of space and ICT to improve working conditions and make life easier for people around the world.

More specifically, a project aims to combine satellite imagery with drone footage to save human lives in disaster areas.

"Earthlab" was founded in 2015 when the Luxembourg shareholders Post and Hitec merged with French and Italian counterparts. From experience, manager Thomas Friederich believes that the public support of innovative projects, through for instance the Luxembourg space agency, is one of the major advantages of Luxembourg's location.

Simultaneously, artificial intelligence and big data are constantly threatened by cyber-crime. It is a challenge that the team of "Earthlab" have taken on, following the motto: "Put artificial intelligence at the service of man, for a better future, no matter where one lives in this world." A challenge the "Earthlab" team has been tackling with great energy from Luxembourg for five years.
