No festive break for the emergency services, as a fire occurred in Senningerberg and a car accident took place between Vichten and Useldange.

At around 4 am on Thursday morning, firefighters were alerted to a fire breaking out in an apartment block in Senningerberg (Niederanven).

Once at the scene, firefighters found one person seriously injured and unconscious in the apartment on the second floor. The fire brigade evacuated the victim and provided medical assistance.

Around 40 firefighters were mobilised to stop the fire spreading and did so quickly. The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps used the occasion to reiterate the importance of installing fire alarms in homes, in order to prevent fires from escalating to this point.

On Friday, the police bulletin reported that the resident found unconscious by firefighters sustained life-threatening injuries.

Accident

Shortly after 8pm on Wednesday, a car was involved in an accident between Useldange and Vichten, ending up on its roof. One person was injured.
