
At around 1pm on Saturday afternoon, police were called to a shopping centre in Bertrange after a member of staff at a clothing store reported a theft.
Officers apprehended two suspects outside the shop and recovered the stolen goods from their possession. Both men were arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor and brought before an investigating judge.
Later that evening, at 6.30pm, a woman residing in Esch-sur-Alzette contacted police after a man, who was subject to a court-imposed restraining order, was seen in or near her home.
Police officers then located the man nearby after a brief search and took him to the police station for further processing. He is scheduled to appear before an investigating judge on Saturday.
Later, at approximately 9.30pm, a police patrol in the Gare district of Luxembourg City noticed a group of five individuals acting suspiciously upon seeing officers.
Police carried out checks and discovered drugs divided into small quantities for sale, along with a large amount of cash, a flick knife, and several mobile phones. These items were seized by order of the public prosecutor.
One of those detained was also found to have concealed further drug pellets inside their body. This individual was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor and is expected to appear before an investigating judge on Saturday afternoon.
Finally, at 1am on Saturday, police on patrol in the Gare district noticed two men involved in a physical altercation.
Officers separated the pair and, during initial investigations, determined that the dispute had arisen from a failed drug deal. Both men were taken separately to the police station for questioning.
During a search, one of the men was found to be in possession of drugs and a mobile phone, both of which were seized. A rapid drug test returned a positive result, leading to his arrest on the orders of the public prosecutor.
A subsequent search of his home uncovered a significant sum of money, several mobile phones, and equipment believed to be used for drug trafficking. This suspect is also due to appear before an investigating judge on Saturday afternoon.
