
At around 8.50pm on Friday, the police received reports that someone had parked a heavily damaged car on the pavement on Route de Burange in Dudelange. The police paid a visit to the driver at her home and asked her to take a breathalyser test. The result was positive, and the woman was fined.
The police found another damaged car on Allée Scheffer in Limpertsberg at around 10.15pm. The driver, who was drunk, crashed into two poles. Instead of addressing the damage, the woman just kept on driving. Her car finally broke down on Avenue John F. Kennedy because it had lost too much oil at that point. The breathalyser test came back positive, and the woman had to hand over her driving licence.
On Friday night, the police pulled over a motorist in Grevenmacher who had a bit too much to drink at a local festival. The police withdrew the motorist’s driving licence and issued a fine.
In Diekirch, a traffic check carried out by the police and customs authorities revealed several infractions. Seven drivers were unable to present a valid technical check certificate. In three cases, the officers noticed issues with the tax vignette. Finally, there were issues with both the technical check certificate and the tax vignette in another three cases and one car was not even registered.
