Police caught the alleged perpetrator at the scene of a Friday afternoon theft on Boulevard Raiffeisen and recovered the stolen products, while two further break-ins into parked vehicles were also reported.

Late on Friday afternoon, police received a report of a theft in a shop on Boulevard Raiffeisen in Gasperich. According to initial information, make-up products had been taken.

A patrol came across the suspected perpetrator at the scene and recovered the stolen items from him. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the man was placed under arrest, and was due before an examining magistrate on Saturday morning.

Further thefts

Police also reported two further thefts from vehicles.

On Friday afternoon, unknown suspects stole items including a jacket from a vehicle on Rue Michel Engels in Rollingergrund.

Later, in the evening, the window of a vehicle on Rue Sosthène Weis in Pfaffenthal was smashed, with the thieves making off with items, including a laptop and cash.

An investigation has been opened in both cases.
