The politician from the Christian Social People's Party (CSV) succeeds Carlo Schmit from the Democratic Party (DP), who resigned his duties as mayor after three years. Schmit will remain a member of the municipal council.
Both parties agreed on the transfer after the municipal elections in 2017. Schuman had been a member of the municipal executive so far and will be succeeded by DP-councillor Josy Popov.
