The Landesverband is adamant that the Luxembourgish public transport system currently has too many shortcomings, which in turn make it incompatible with a free transport system. The trade union has listed a number of demands that the government should fill before working to make public transport free.
Amongst other things, the Landesverband has demanded that the government renew the railway and road public transport service contract for a further fifteen years prior to introducing free public transport. This is a step that the trade union believes is crucial in order to guarantee jobs for those working in the sector.
A further demand is to introduce free public transport in the form of passes and to number these passes.
