The National Federation of Luxembourg Railway Workers, Transport Workers, Civil Servants and Employees (Landsverband) and the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) demand that the recruitment procedure at TICE must be simplified to find the urgently needed 40-50 new bus drivers.
Besides the working conditions, which have "massively deteriorated" for the current drivers, the working climate has also hit a low point, according to the trade unions. Due to the current staff shortages, drivers are for instance called in to work despite officially being on leave, and an increasing number of people are calling in sick. New drivers are thus desperately needed, but the recruitment conditions are "too cumbersome and complicated", the trade unions criticise.
