
A technical fault affected the French railway operator SNCF rail line between Thionville and Metz on Wednesday morning, resulting in a temporary suspension in both directions that also affected the trains heading from and towards Luxembourg.
SNCF's regional Nancy-Metz-Luxembourg account posted on X: "Since 5.30am, services have been suspended in both directions between Thionville and Metz due to a fault on the railway infrastructure. Services are expected to resume as normal at around 8am."
The TGV towards Paris was also stopped for some time at Thionville station. According to information from the scene, it resumed its journey shortly after 7am. It is currently not known whether services towards Paris are also affected.
Train traffic gradually resumed shortly after 7am, as announced by the same SNCF account on X.
