Police reportsTwo agitators arrested in Gare, one license revoked in Soleuvre

RTL Today
Police were forced to arrest two agitators in unrelated incidents in the Gare district last night, and also revoked the license of a drink driver who caused an accident in Soleuvre.

Around 8pm on Saturday, the police were alerted to a man who behaved aggressively and harassed people on Rue de Strasbourg in Luxembourg City’s Gare district. Officers at the scene were unable to reason with the man, whose behaviour turned worse after they arrived.

Police thus decided to take the agitator to an arrest cell, as he represented a danger to himself and others.

Another individual suffered the same fate after rioting on Rue du Fort Neipperg at 2am on Sunday. The man reportedly threw bottles and stones around and damaged several stationary vehicles in the process.

Police fined the man for the damages he caused.

Drink-driving

At 2.50am on Sunday, a motorist crashed into several road signs in Soleuvre, severely damaging his car in the process. When police signalled their presence with blue light, the driver still moved his vehicle on to a traffic island, but then abandoned any further escape attempts.

Since the driver’s alcohol test came back positive, officers revoked his license at the scene.
