A severe accident occurred just after midnight on Friday at the roundabout in Dippach.

The driver lost control of his vehicle as he approached a roundabout on the RN05, this caused the car to go flying straight over the roundabout and overturn, according to information on the Dippach fire station's Facebook page.

The driver was heading towards Schouweiler from Dippach when the accident occurred. The car took two trees, a hedge, and a road sign with it as it flew over the roundabout.

The driver was able to climb out of the wreck without assistance and was only slightly injured. The passenger, on the other hand, had to be cut out of the vehicle by emergency services and taken to hospital due to severe injuries.

Nine Dippach firefighters attended the incident alongside Bascharage/Petange firefighters, Samu from Esch-sur-Alzette, and the police.
