According to a statement published on Wednesday afternoon, the Findel homeless shelter will open its doors from Monday, bringing forward its opening date from 1 December.

A shuttle service will ensure the transport of the those in need between Luxembourg City and the accommodation in Findel. The emergency shelters will be staffed by volunteers from Caritas Accueil et Solidarité.

The overnight shelter will be open from 10pm until 8am; however, no food will be served on a temporary basis. These emergency measures will remain in place until 15 November, when the usual "Wanteraktioun" campaign will begin. From this date, homeless people will be able to make use of the usual lodging, food, and medical or psychosocial support over the winter.
