• Confirmed cases of coronavirus increased by 141 to 2,319, as the number of deaths jumped by 6 to 29.

• Minister of Education Claude Mensch announced that schools would remain closed until at least 4 May.

• A leading doctor suggested that cases of the new disease in the Grand Duchy might peak as early as this week.

• Luxembourg City has reduced the frequency of public transport, but business is booming on the Letzhop.lu website.

• The national coronavirus hotline is now offering mental health support.

• It was announced that Luxembourg will take in another four patients from the Grand Est region of France as deaths there surpassed 1,000.

• The British government is facing criticism for the UK's low testing rate, as a man was jailed in France for failing to respect the lockdown.

• NGOs again warned of the devastating impact coronavirus could have in refugee camps, while Iran hit out at the USA for refusing to lift sanctions on the virus-hit country. 

• On April 1 - traditionally known as April Fools' Day - there has been little appetite for pranks worldwide as the epidemic continues to spread.
