Police officers on patrol noticed a car with a damaged front right tyre on Boulevard de Kyiv in Bonnevoie on Monday morning. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle for a routine inspection, the driver sped away, prompting a police pursuit. The chase concluded on Boulevard des Scillas in Howald, where officers managed to bring the car to a halt. Police report that the driver displayed clear signs of intoxication, and a breathalyser test confirmed he was over the legal alcohol limit.
During the investigation, police determined that the car had been stolen during a burglary on Rue des Acacias in Soleuvre. According to initial findings, a window of the house had been smashed and the property searched. Stolen items were found inside the vehicle and seized along with the car. Police have launched a formal investigation into the matter.
