The Russian prime minister Dimitri Medwedew has arrived for his state visit to Luxembourg, which will last until Wednesday. Earlier on Tuesday around 3pm, the Russian politician landed at Luxembourg Airport in Findel, where he was greeted by Luxembourg's prime minister Xavier Bettel.
On Monday, the US embassy put politicians under pressure over the visit, arguing that Luxembourg must bring up the controversial annexation of Crimea.
Deputy prime minister Etienne Schneider showed himself surprised that a diplomat was giving orders to the Grand Duchy. Luxembourg, he argued, never shied away from addressing sensitive issues.
