The Young Socialists (the LSAP's youth wing) believe that the Grand Ducal Court's public and private funds must be clearly separate, the group wrote in a press release.
In that vein, the youth wing believes that citizens of Luxembourg should be consulted for their opinion via referendum. Specifically, the referendum should query whether citizens wish to keep the current constitutional monarchy or change to a republic.
The press release also highlighted that the group is against the practice of certain people being privileged based on their origins, but also that these same individuals have their individual freedoms and right to self-determination curtailed.
The youth wing went on to argue that, in light of these issues, monarchy is no longer compatible with the modern values of democracy.
