Cattenom nuclear power plantFire brigade sent to Cattenom after discovery of burning smell in fourth production unit
At 8.00pm on Saturday, the fire brigade was called to the nuclear power plant in Cattenom, after employees discovered a burning smell in the fourth production unit.

The fire brigade concluded that the smell had been caused by the switching on of a power unit in the machinery room. This was in an area outside of the nuclear part of the plant.
Following an inspection, the firefighters were able to leave the power plant. At no point was there any danger to people or the environment.
