The riders are entering the final week of the 2026 Tour de France. It begins with a 26.1-kilometre individual time trial. The route runs from Évian-les-Bains to Thonon-les-Bains. Right from the start, the course climbs for almost ten kilometres up the Côte de Larringes, before descending on a fast and technically demanding downhill section. The final nine kilometres are flat all the way to the finish line.
This course is tailor-made for complete time-trial specialists: riders who can maintain a steady effort on a longer climb, possess the technical skills needed to avoid losing time on the descent, and still be able to produce a high power output on the flat section to the finish.
RTL’s coverage will be broadcast on RTL.lu and RTL Play.
