Marie Schreiber dominated the international cyclocross race in Contern, leaving her rivals with no chance from the very first lap. The Luxembourg champion crossed the finish line more than three minutes ahead of Belgium’s Sterre Vervloet, who finished second. Third place went to another Belgian rider, Joyce Vanderbeken, while Maïté Barthels finished fourth.
The junior men’s race was much closer. On the second of six laps, Luxembourg champion Ben Fleming broke away from the main group alongside Belgian riders Mathiz Thielens and Senna Cami. With two laps remaining, Fleming launched an attack but was caught and countered. He eventually finished third, a few seconds behind the winner. Thielens took victory ahead of Cami. In the junior women’s race, June Nothum claimed victory ahead of Sarah Koenig.
In the debutants’ race, Luxembourg champion Yannis Elsen took the win. The CT Atertdaul rider proved strongest on the demanding course, finishing ahead of the two riders from Dippach, Bjarne Bauer and Louis Baustert. Enola Walch was once again the best female debutant, finishing ahead of Maxine Steinbach.
