Greisch’s career on the Luxembourg stage spanned decades, making his debut at just 15 years old. Over the years, he became particularly well known for his performances alongside his wife, Luxembourgish actress Juliette François. The pair first appeared together on stage in 1955 and continued to perform together regularly until the actress’s death in 2008.

Greisch was not only an actor but also an accomplished playwright. In 1993, he received the Servais Prize for the first time for his trilogy Äddi Charel, Besuch, and E Stéck Streisel. He was awarded the Batty Weber Prize in 2002, and, in 2013, 20 years after his first Servais distinction, he was again honoured with Luxembourg’s literature prize for his book De Monni aus Amerika.

He was also a member of the Grand-Ducal Institute and served as Vice-President of the Luxembourg Writers’ Association.

At the same time, Greisch was a familiar face in Luxembourg cinema, appearing in numerous productions ranging from Déi Zwee vum Bierg to Rusty Boys. His final film role came in 2020, when he appeared alongside Luc Schiltz in the short film Lupus.
