1. Luxembourg’s most wholesome tradition

What: 25th edition of the Duck race
Where: Grund, Luxembourg City

Luxembourg at Luxembourg’s best! The duck race attracts thousands of visitors to watch a stream of rubber ducks flow down the river Alzette through the Grund to the backdrop of the picturesque Old Town. DJs, child-friendly entertainment, and a whole host of Mettwurscht (other options are available) will accompany the jovial occasion. You can buy a duck for €5, enter the race, and win a car! The festivities start at 12pm, but the actual race begins at 3pm. Be there or be square – it’s for a good cause!

2. DKV Trail run

What: Urban trail run
Where: Throughout Luxembourg City

The race itself is sold-out but the trail run is a great occasion to get outside and support the runners in Luxembourg City. The weather looks fantastic so why not head out, walk around town and get behind some of our local athletes. There are different types of events on: 13km ‘Traces of Vauban’, 18km ‘In the footsteps of Melusina’, 27km ‘Trail of the Forts’, and a 34km race. There is also Nordic walking at 13km, while kids can also partake in either a 9km or 1.6km walk.

3. British Ladies Club car boot sale

Residents and visitors are invited to come together for a lively and engaging event that promises a day of good bargains, community spirit, and family-friendly fun. Built around the idea of “make space, make cash, and have fun”, the event offers the perfect opportunity to declutter at home, while also discovering a wide range of pre-loved items.

4. LuxCon

What: A world of fandom

The Grand Duchy’s own Luxcon, running this year from 18 to 19 April at Forum Geesseknäppchen, promises to be a slice of sci-fi/fantasy/horror heaven. Included in their impressive programme are workshops, cosplay competitions, vendor booths, game demos, and panels from across the fandom-verse – fantasy authors, game designers, you name it. 5. Gaming day

What: Tournaments, retro games, and more

A gamer’s paradise is dawning on Schifflange, tournaments galore: EA Sports FC 26, Super Mario Smash Bros Brawl, GeoGuessr, Fortnite, and more. It’s not just modern games though, enjoy retro classics, free-play consoles, and board games. It is a celebration of the gaming world, meet like-minded people in a natural way!

6. Antiques market

Bargain hunters rejoice! Place d’Armes will play home to an antiques market on Saturday, stalls are reserved for private sellers but you can sniff out some treasure while browsing in the City centre.

7. Differdange fun fair

Luxembourg’s ‘Kiermes’ season is upon us! The Kiermes in Differdange is set to open this Friday, marking the start of one of the town’s most anticipated local festivities. The fair will once again bring a vibrant atmosphere to the streets, with rides, games, and traditional treats drawing in families and friends alike. As the lights come on and the music begins, it’s the perfect occasion to gather, celebrate, and enjoy a cherished moment of community life.
