These are among the findings of the fourth Retail Report, presented on Monday morning by the Ministry of the Economy, the National Observatory for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (GIE), the Luxembourg Confederation and the Chamber of Commerce.

The report finds notable differences between sectors. In the food sector, 110 new outlets have opened over the past five years. By contrast, the fashion sector has seen a downturn. During the same period, 12 per cent of fashion shops disappeared, according to the Retail Report. There is, however, positive news regarding vacancy rates in Luxembourg City. The figures are stabilising and in some areas have even fallen slightly.
