Money bust at Findel airport€2 million in cash discovered by customs office sniffer dogs

The cash amount was uncovered over the course of three days in the luggage of several passengers at Findel airport. The money was not declared and was destined to travel from the Grand Duchy to Istanbul, which constitutes a legal infraction in Luxembourg and furthermore an infringement of European law.

The latter envisions that sums above €10,000 need to be declared prior to travelling. In case that regulation is not respected, fines can range between 251 and 25,000 euros, paired with a potential confiscation of the respective amount.
