In October290 people applied for international protection in Luxembourg

According to the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum, most of the people concerned are from Syria, Eritrea, and Afghanistan.

Out of a total of 116 applicants, 48 people were granted refugee status last month in Luxembourg. Two applicants for international protection were deported to a country outside the EU in August, one forcibly and the other voluntarily.

182 refugees applied for temporary protection. 144 applications were accepted. 40 people withdrew their applications while they were still being processed.

149 Ukrainians were granted temporary protection. Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine at the end of February, 4,774 Ukrainians have applied for temporary protection. Some of them have already returned to their country of origin.
