Preventive checks offered by police46 motorhomes and caravans checked, ten found to be overloaded

RTL Today
On 2 July, residents were able to have their vehicles checked for free by traffic police in Bertrange ahead of the upcoming holiday season.

Thirty nine motorhomes and seven caravans were checked during this event. In ten cases, the vehicles were overloaded.

The aim of this service is to avoid accidents due to overloading, but also to draw attention to the correct securing of loads. Besides drivers overloading their vehicles, it is also a common issue that the load is not properly secured. In a worst-case scenario, this can have fatal consequences.

In addition to the weight of their vehicle, drivers should have its maximum height measured and ask for information on load securing, tyres, vehicle documents, different licence categories, and regulations in the destination countries.
