When officers and the emergency services arrived on the scene, they found the car in a wooded area at the bottom of a field. Analysis of the tyre marks revealed the car had come off the road, and careened through the field for a few hundred metres before crashing into the trees.
The 58 year old Luxembourgish driver passed away at the scene.
The prosecutor's office was informed and a forensic team was dispatched to the scene of the accident. A post-mortem has been ordered.
