The Economic Committee has received 61 applications for short-time work for the month of April, ten more than for March, according to the Ministry of the Economy. Of the 61 applications, 51 were approved.

The figures were shared following the committee’s meeting on Tuesday, which was presided over by Minister of the Economy Lex Delles and Minister of Labour Marc Spautz.

The committee also assessed how many companies that submitted an application for short-time work for December 2025 actually implemented the measure. Of the 52 approved applications, 38 businesses ultimately used short-time work, resulting in 845 employees having their working hours reduced. The costs for the Employment Fund amounted to approximately €538,000, a decrease compared with the previous month.

The next meeting of the Economic Committee is scheduled for 21 April 2026.
