EmploymentAccounting, IT development, and legal counsel among most popular job openings

As part of its monthly analysis on jobseekers, the National Employment Agency (ADEM) has published figures on unemployment, highlighting the status of Luxembourg's job market.

The number of jobseekers has risen by 2.7% compared to this time last year, representing 15,668 individuals registered as jobseekers.

At the same time, Statec has revealed which jobs were most in demand in July, providing key insight on which sectors and roles are most popular and in need of recruitment in Luxembourg's job market. On 31 July 2019, ADEM reported 7,945 vacant posts, which represents a 2.5% drop compared to the previous year.

1. Accounting roles: 223 roles available
2. IT development: 125 roles 
3. Legal counsel, specifically defence counsel: 90 roles
4. Credit and risk analysis in banks: 89 roles
5. Front of house service in restaurants: 88 roles
6. Reception work: 87 roles
7. Business management and organisation consulting: 86 roles
8. Kitchen personnel: 82 roles
9. Retail and sales: 82 roles
10. Construction work: 77 roles
