On Monday, the group presented its most recent assessments during a press briefing. While progress has been made on some fronts, such as the toxicity level of paint, for instance, other areas still show significant deficiencies.
Muck Huss, cofounder of Akut, explained: "Unfortunately, there are still many substances that get market approval before being sufficiently tested for negative repercussions on people's health. A very good example is the 5G network, which again shows that market pressure is more powerful than caution."
Akut officials further lamented that in recent years, policies have actually weakened some of the monitoring mechanisms. Similarly, they believe that people who decide to renovate their house out of health concerns should not have to cover all the expenses.
The press conference was concluded with the promise that the awareness and preventive work of the organisation will be increased in the future.
