However, there are concerns about the new strain of coronavirus, first found in the United Kingdom, which has now been detected in Luxembourg and is likely to be more contagious than the previous variant. This could be responsible for an uptick in cases during the cold winter months, says Dr Turk.
The government will need to carefully weigh up when the national lockdown can end in the upcoming weeks. Dr Turk is hopeful though that the rollout of a vaccine will make a difference.
