Tornado victimsApplications to request help now online

RTL Today
As announced, applications for financial support post-Tornado have been made available online.

The measure was announced at a press conference on Saturday, and now private persons can access these applications online at the Ministry for Family Affairs website and guichet.lu. It must be noted that these forms can only be accessed in French or German.

The government has decided, as following previous storms in Müllerthal, to support affected residents who find themselves in a precarious financial situation.  This is a time-limited offer: those wishing to benefit from it have to fill in the necessary forms by November 1st with the Minister for Family Affairs.

No help will be extended towards damage that falls under insurance policies, such as vehicles, second homes, caravans, luxury objects, books, saunas, pools, solariums, exercise equipment or garden sheds (as is listed on the Ministry for Family Affairs website).

Support for businesses

Since Monday morning, businesses too have had recourse to aid: all affected small and medium sized enterprises that suffered losses due to forced closure or other direct damage - in terms of buildings, equipment, machinery, stock - will be considered for compensation.

Those affected can make their appeals at the Ministry for Small and Medium- Sized Enterprises by calling the number 247-74704 between the hours of 8am - 12pm, and 1 - 4pm, or by sending an email to info.aide.pme@eco.etat.lu
