The masked culprits forcefully entered the bakery in rue du Pont in Echternach at about 5:30 AM on Tuesday morning.
They threatened an employee with a firearm and demanded that he hand over the cash in the bakery's register. However, as the employee did not manage to open the register straight away, the individuals decided to abandon their plan and escape.
Police recommend not to pick up any hitch hikers and have issued a call for witnesses as well as a description of the culprits.
The first man is said to be around 18 years old, Caucasian, and about 1.85 m tall. He wore black clothes and a black balaclava.
The second man is also said to be around 18 years old, dark skinned, and about 1.60 m tall. He also wore black clothes and a black balaclava.
Both individuals spoke German with a Luxembourgish accent.
Anyone with pertinent information about the two suspects or who believes to have witnessed suspect individuals or behaviour, is asked to immediately contact the police's emergency hotline 113.
