The police intervened in two incidents of theft on Thursday, one of which occurred at a hospital.

On Thursday evening, authorities received a report of an individual attempting to steal a mobile phone from a hospital room in Luxembourg City. A patrol unit was despatched and arrested the suspect, who subsequently appeared before an examining magistrate on Friday morning.

In a separate incident on the same day, a shoplifter was apprehended in Capellen. Officers on patrol became suspicious of an individual who was walking around a shop with an overstuffed bag and who immediately turned around upon noticing the police presence. Shortly afterwards, while the officers remained in the vicinity, the store alarm sounded and they observed the same individual leaving the premises.

The officers confronted the person in the car park. A search of their bag revealed that several bottles of alcohol had not been paid for. The stolen goods were returned to the shop, and the shoplifter was arrested.
