Authorities in the Moselle department of France have provided an exhaustive list detailing what kind of travel is permitted during the crisis.

The coronavirus is inducing worldwide safety measures limiting citizens' movements. However, as these restrictions aren't always particularly clear, the Moselle authorities have issued a call to order reminding people what is and what isn't allowed under the current circumstances.

  1. People and establishments authorised to stay open are permitted to buy the supplies and basic necessities required for work;
  2. Travel related to any health concerns is permitted where remote consultations are impossible; 
  3. Travel for family emergencies and for the assistance of vulnerable persons and childcare is permitted;
  4. Travel related to physical activity is permitted so long as they are limited to one hour and stay within a one kilometre radius from home. Any physical activity that includes other people or takes place in close proximity to others is not permitted. Walking a domestic animal or in a group is permitted so long as all included reside in the same house;
  5. Travel imposed by police, administrative or judicial authorities (such as reporting to the police) is permitted ;
  6. Travel imposed by an administrative court or judicial authorities (such as a summons) is permitted;
  7. Travel to carry out tasks for the good of the public is permitted.

It is also worthy to note that, in most cases individuals will need some sort of authorised statement in support of their activity. Failure to provide one of these results in a fine of €135, which is subject to being increased.
