In his response to a parliamentary inquiry by MP Jeff Engelen (ADR), Bausch noted that the tunnel had been chosen as a location due to its natural inclination and the increased danger posed by the enclosed space in case of an accident.
The official launch date of the speed camera has yet to be announced, but Bausch already announced in an interview that a series of cameras would be installed in motorway tunnels across the country by the end of 2021.
