EconomyBankruptcies remain stable in May

Figures from STATEC indicate that bankruptcies in May 2021 were at a similar level to May 2020.

Provisional figures for May 2021 indicate 161 companies were declared bankrupt, while 64 underwent liquidation, according to the latest count from STATEC and the Ministry of Justice.

In May 2020, by comparison, 159 bankruptcies were declared - however, this was a significant increase from May 2019 when the number was just 107.

Liquidations also remained stable, falling slightly from 76 in May 2020. In May 2019 45 firms underwent liquidation.
