Images displayed had been taken from 44 year old Nicolas Holzem's social media pages. He was last seen on 15 June in Cuzco, Peru. He was then thought to have made his way to Bolivia.

Family and friends have launched appeals across social media for weeks, as they have not had any communication with Holzem. The Minister of Foreign Affairs is in contact with the Belgian embassy in Lima.

In the TV report, a spokesperson for the Bolivian police said they were waiting for an official missing persons notice, and were in contact with the EU ambassador. Holzem's sister is en route to the South American country to meet with officials. Holzem’s completed route would have ended in Argentina.
