Directorate of HealthBug found in contact tracing satisfaction survey

RTL Today
The issue was discovered by people taking a satisfaction survey following contact with the tracing unit. News outlet Paperjam reported the problem in early September.

The Minister of Health, Paulette Lenert, issued a parliamentary response to questions posed by CSV MPs Martine Hansen, Gilles Roth and Laurent Mosar, in which she explained that technical issues meant a person completing a form for the survey had been able to view information previously submitted by other users. The problem was thought to be caused by the form's translation.

As soon as the Directorate of Health became aware of the issue, the form was deactivated for troubleshooting. It will not be activated again until the issue has been resolved, said Lenert.

An invitation to participate in the survey is sent via electronic form to people who have been in contact with the track and trace service used for quarantine or isolation purposes.

Lenert clarified that the survey was voluntary and the data was collected anonymously, in spite of the bug.

An investigation of this type did not require authorisation from the National Commission for Data Protection, Lenert added.
