Over the course of Sunday, Luxembourg police handled a string of robberies and burglaries, while a knife fight from Friday evening has also come to light.

In the early hours of Sunday morning at around 3.30am, a woman had her necklace torn from her neck at the intersection of Rue de la Boucherie and Rue de la Monnaie. The perpetrator fled the scene with the jewellery. A second incident occurred on Sunday afternoon on Rue André Duchscher in the Gare district, where a woman was pushed to the ground by two individuals who stole her necklace and bracelet before making off.

Burglaries in Marnach and Beggen

Sunday afternoon also brought two residential burglaries. In Marnach, two as yet unidentified individuals broke into a house and made off with pieces of jewellery. Shortly afterwards, a burglary was reported at an apartment on Rue Halanzy in Beggen, where rooms were ransacked and both jewellery and cash were taken.

Knife fight in Luxembourg City

Police also reported an incident from Friday evening. At around 10.30pm, a fight broke out between several people on Rue Philippe II in the Upper Town, escalating from an initial argument between two men into a larger confrontation. The two men who had started the dispute were found to have stabbed each other with knives. One was found at the scene with cuts, treated at hospital and subsequently arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor's office. The other individual involved has not yet been found.
