Parliamentary questionBusinesses file 650 requests for extraordinary support in two months

RTL Today
Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Lex Delles provided details on the financial support available for businesses in response to a parliamentary question posed by DP MPs Carole Hartmann and André Bauler.

The new aid "Coûts non couverts" for costs which are otherwise not covered can be requested by businesses and self-employed persons for the months of November 2020 to March 2021 inclusive.

653 such requests have been received by the Ministry over the last two months. 111 were denied as they were incomplete, in most cases because the amount of revenue was greater than the registered losses; or loss of revenue was below the 40% threshold. Of the other 540 cases, 364 were granted and 79 refused.

According to Delles' response, each request is processed within three days. Once a request has been approved, the company in question is compensated within a week following the decision.

This is not the most successful form of financial support during the crisis - a further 2,600 requests have been filed for recovery aid since December, as well as 1,700 requests for aid for the self-employed and 300 requests for advances, which must be reimbursed.
