The free parking was one of the demands supplied by retailers in the Luxembourg City Central station area, who have already had to suffer from lack of footfall due to the tram construction works and the redevelopment of the roads. The retailers' demands were accepted, as mayor Lydie Polfer announced at the weekly Wednesday City Breakfast.
Polfer also announced that shops will be open until 8 pm on Friday 29 November due to Black Friday sales.
The mayor returned to the tragic accident on Sunday, reiterating that the investigation is ongoing and has not yet delivered a conclusion. Events will stop take place in the Gare area, as the situation is difficult. Notably, the Saint Nicholas parade will be held on Sunday 1 December.
