
From now on, only a third of the members on the administrative board are to be nominated by the government. Listeners of Radio 100,7 will be consulted twice per year in a special poll.
Among the other measures provided for by law are strengthened independence, a focus on radio-produced content (advertising will remain prohibited) and a guarantee of multi-year funding.
The Alternative Democratic Reform Party (ADR) abstained from the vote in the Chamber. According to MP Fernand Kartheiser, the radio station is not neutral, and he further criticised that Russian state broadcasters Sputnik and Russia Today are currently prohibited in Luxembourg.
