Since Thursday CHEM (Hospital Center Emile Mayrisch) has made online emergency consultations available. Those either under quarantine or unable to travel to the hospital can access these consultation services via phone, tablet or laptop. The service is to be extended in the future. In order to benefit from it, however, certain steps must be followed:
Users need to go to the CHEM website and click the "Téléconsultation" button. They then need to gather various necessary documents, such as their social security card or national identity card. These are vital for the staff to be able to access patient folders. After that, they need to press the button that will put them in touch with a doctor, and a video call with then allow them to ask their doctor any questions.
The service, which was inspired from abroad, costs €47 and will be reimbursed in its entirety by the CNS. It seems that the system was tested yesterday, and patients were satisfied. In its first phase, it will be available between 4pm and 6pm.
Depending on demand, this online system will be expanded and introduced in other hospitals across the country. In order to better protect both the public and hospital staff, a first level of sorting will take place in CHEM's entrance.
